Pinot Noir Estate

"The grapes for this Pinot Noir are grown in our estate vineyards in the Edna Valley. The berries each year are small and intensely flavored and colored. The finished wine is garnet in color, with black cherry, spice and cola flavors."
Winemaker, Christian Roguenant

Islay Mountain, the last in a chain of extinct volcanoes known as the Seven Sisters, stands as a historic mark in the Edna Valley. Our estate vineyards are planted at its base, just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean. Its influence is felt first here, with cool maritime breezes funneling from Morro Bay. Baileyana's owners, the Niven family, have poured all they have learned in their more than thirty years of research and grapegrowing into their vineyards. This region is known for long summer days and distinctive evening fog, resulting in an extended growing season. This additional time on the vine allows the grapes to develop intense and complex varietal flavors while achieving optimum maturity levels.

As do all of our wines, the Estate Pinot Noir represents the best the cool climate of the Edna Valley has to offer. It stands nicely next to our GFC Pinot Noir, as a testament to this grand varietal.
